More Core’dinations Fun

These are more of the Design Team cards I made for the Core Concepts Challenge at Caardvarks (remember … there is one huge stack of cool cardstock up for grabs).

Core14wm

I love a little pink and green for the holidays.  Light Green Core''dinations cardstock from the So Mod! Super assortmentwas embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing folder and sanded to bring out the color of the core.

It was matted on darker green cardstock from the same collection that was sanded around the edges.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the letters are American Crafts Rootbeer Float Thickers.

This card showcases the super cool textured color of the Core'dinations Retro Mod Squad Vintage Cardstock collection.  The design elements are all rub-ons from Stampin' Up highlighted with adhesive bling.  I finished with rounded corners and a ribbon that combined both colors.

When I punch cardstock, I often ink around the edges to hide those bits of white core that often want to show.

With Core'dinations cardstock, that is no longer an issue.  Instead I used a nail file to sand around the edges to bring out more of the core.

I pulled out all of my flower punches and two leaf punches and just started creating blooms with metal brad centers.  I love how all of the different shades of Core'dinations cardstock from the different collections work so well together.

The finishing touch was a sentiment from Penny Black.

Core1wm My final card was one of the quickest.  It combines three shades of this gorgeous deep teal cardstock.  I love how the Cuttlebug embossed ornaments really popped when sanding … and how well they go with this Tag Sentiment from Stampin up (which was stamped in Prussian Blue Chalk ink and clear embossed.

I used two jump rings to attach the tag, which helps the tag stay flat against the card instead of trying to turn to the side.

I can't wait to see your cardstock creations.
