Origami Wreath

CPS93wm I saw this cool tutorial for an origami wreath at Domesticali and had to give it a try.  This week's CPS Sketch was the perfect layout to feature my paper creation.

I used a page torn from a discarded vintage Ideals magazine (a full page picture of some white flowers) for my wreath.  The page weight was perfect to hold the folds and the overall floral design worked well when cut into pieces.

Since I'm not much of a metric system gal, I used strips of paper that were 1 1/2" x 3" (I think the key is probably to have a length that is twice as long as your width).

The papers are from the Basic Gray Fruitcake collection.  I sponged some red ink along the strips to provide a bit of definition.  The sentiment is a new Studio G set I picked up at Archivers.  I finished with a bow from red metallic twine.  The completed card is 4" x 6 1/2".

I was excited to see that I was one of the Winnerz at the Shimmerz Blog for my spotlight card.  I've got some of the cool new Blingz colors coming my way.
