I don't watch a lot of TV, but AMC's Mad Men about an advertising agency on Madison Avenue in the 1960's is one show I don't miss. No only do I love the characters and story, I love the fashion, furnishings and advertising campaign design .. so much eye candy.
So this week's SCS Inspiration challenge is to made a card inspired by the show.
My card is inspired by Betty's beautiful gown. I love the texture on the bodice which looks like it might have a flower design. I also love that wonderful headboard.
I embossed the blue cardstock with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The shimmery ivory paper is some specialty paper that was already embossed with the floral design.
I didn't realize until today that I didn't do any stamping on the card. I did finished with a textured ribbon and a disassembled silk flower layered with several punched circles and a pearl brad from the bridal section at Michael's.
I hope you find inspiration.
Oh my word Steph…what a lovely card…WOW!!! HUGS!!
Great take on the inspiration!!! Love that specialty paper…perfect-o! Sheesh, how skinny is that gal?
I love Mad Men! Great card.
This is stunning – so much texture, and still so soft. That floral embossed paper is divine – it looks like silk!! Love it!!
hugs, Jami
Oh you used this gorgeous paper! It is so beautiful Steph that I am scared of using it! But you used it beautifully here. Stamping or no stamping the card is simply beauuuuttiful!!!
This is so straight forward elegant I wish I had thought of it! Beautiful from beginning to end.
