This card combines Allison’s sketch challenge from Stamping Links to Love with Sharon’s challenge to Dance with Dee by doing some two-step stamping with butterflies and flowers.
Since this is one of the only two-step stamping sets that I own (Stampin’ Up’s Blossoms Abound), that pretty much determined the direction of my card. I couldn’t find the clear piece for my stamp-a-ma-jig, so I had to eyeball the blooms and leaves (it took several times to find a color combination that I liked).
Due to the size of my lilac bloom, I had to enlarge the sketch to 4"x7" card. For the corner element in the sketch, I stamped several butterflies in pink (don’t know the source … I wish clear stamps would print the manufacturer and set name on the acrylic sheet). I love how the flourished design of the Rhonna Farrer paper shows through their wings. I smudged on the corner when I stamped my sentiment (SU’s Smarty Pants), so I stamped one more butterfly, cut it out, and attached it to hide the smudge.
I finished with a couple of Peony Dew Drops (I’ve decided the easiest way to attach them is with Ranger Matte Accents).
Thanks ladies for some great inspiration.
This is terrific Stef! I like your very elegant take on this sketch (so different from the rest!). And this color palette is so pretty to boot!
Just gorgeous! Beautiful color combination too.
Thanks for playing
LOVE it! The colors are magnificent!
Gorgeous card — love those colors! 🙂
Fabulous card! I love those butterflies.
Wow! Gorgeous colours steph!!!
I absolutely LOVE this card — this is one of my favorite summery color combos and I love how your butterlies in the corner seem to have transparent wings — love that!!! Your main image is gorgeous — I have admired that set for ages and never did purchase it!!! You have made it look wonderful, even without SAMJ — LOL!!! Great job — so glad you could play — thanks much!!!
