Vintage Button Thank You

Kazan4The ladies at 2 Sketches 4 You have another great sketch this week, and I finally had the chance to give it a try.

All week, I kept trying to think of something unique to use for the elements along the bottom.  I had finally decided on some new Prima blooms.  However, when I went searching for brads for the center of the flowers, I saw my vintage button collection, and my design changed.

Kazan4wmBecause most of the vintage buttons have a type of shank that is not removable, I use very thick glue dots to wrap around the shank, and often more glue dots around the edges to make sure the button stays adhered (sometimes folding the glue dots in half to get the thickness I need like I did for the large button at the top).

Kazan4close1I added some larger close-up photos of the buttons so you could see their amazing detail.

Papers are 7Gypsies Sushi Trip with Bronze metallic cardstock.  Sentiment is a $1 stamp from MIchael’s colored with red and gold glitter pen.

This card is also for Sharon’s Stamp Simply Give Thanks! challenge to do a Thank You card.

Thanks ladies for the inspiration.

Also, don’t forget you have until June 17th to join the fun On The Farm! challenge at Caardvarks … check out the gallery .

I tried Jen’s hand sanitizer cleaning tip on my acrylic blocks this afternoon … it works like a charm.
