We’re still doing well in the aftermath of the flood. We are very grateful for our dry home. Commuting to work is still quite a challenge with closed bridges, but I’ve been enjoying listening to books on my iPod while I sit in gridlock.
I wanted to try Laura’s Sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I did some rearranging in my stamp room yesterday and discovered a stash of textured handmade papers. I thought pieces of the brown paper would be great for this design to add a little texture, while grounding the image.
The blooms from Stampin’ Up’s Simple Florals are stamped in ColorBox Dark Brown and colored with i-kan-dee shimmer chalks. I think the soft chalky shimmer works well with the abstract lines of the image.
The papers are from Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste 8"x8" pad. I added prima blooms accented with a paisley metal vintage button (you can click for a close-up view).
Remember, you have until midnight tonight to upload your Dude Birthday cards … check out the amazing gallery.
ETA – oops … forgot this also works for Allison’s Sunday challenge to use flowers.
