This is one bright card … actually my husband thinks it crossed the line over to gaudy … and I think he may be right. It’s one of those creations that I put way too much time into, and then really wasn’t thrilled with the results. Oh well, sometimes that is just part of the creative process.
I saw Sketch #48 by Tamara, and immediately thought it would be perfect for the glitter letters that I had left over from one of my projects at Inspired. Then I went in search of holiday paper to work with those glittery letters. I think the added sparkle may have been a bit overkill.
I thought the card looked okay with just the JOY, but then I realized I needed to add something down below to work with the sketch. I tried lots of different things … but none worked quite right. I finally settled on punched snowflakes and called it a day.
In hindsight, I should have abandoned the sketch, stuck with the JOY, and moved on. Oh well, certainly someone will enjoy a bright, sparkly holiday card.
It is certainly bright and cheery! I am sure the recipient will be delighted with it. I can’t even think Christmas cards yet. Kudo’s to you!
I *love* it!!! Pink and Green rock!
what a talented cardmaker you are! and thanks for stopping by Nesting Instints!
Beautiful creations!
*ME* please!!! me, me, me, me, meeeeeeeeee!!! i LOVE this one! to me, it’s NOT too sparkly or too gaudy–especially for XMAS–it is perfect! …afterall, one can be *TASTEFUL* the other 11 months of the year… (well, YOU can, anyway…me…not so much!) 🙂
(ps: i can soooo relate to putting too much time into something & then not being happy with it. AWESOME that you figured out *why* you don’t like it…though about what you’d have done differently…and then posted it anyway! you’re an ARTIST, baby!!!!!!!!!!)
Fabulous! The colors and the accents are awesome.
This isn’t gaudy! Well…for a holiday card it isn’t! I like it.
Fabulous card!! I love the bright colors!! Thanks for playing along this week!!
