It’s easy to appreciate all of that slushy white stuff when you’re tucked safely inside your home with your power still working and lots of things recorded on the DVR. However, venturing out in the wet muck this morning to go to the gym was not so fun. Thankfully, the rest of the day will get to be spent tucked inside my studio where the only snow is on the cards.
I love today’s Caardvarks/CardMaps sketch. It reminds me of the deluxe cuts card templates that I have stowed away & haven’t used in forever. I decided to rummage through my scrap bin to look for papers in shades of blue since I had a navy card-front already cut on my work table.
I had everything all pieced together on the card base when I decided that I wanted to stamp the Stampendous snow flurry across the bottom and top. It’s always a tenuous moment because if the idea in my head didn’t translate to paper, I’d be starting over. Thankfully, this time it worked on the first try.
To get the ink color I was searching for I had to ink each stamp in Blue Iris, stamp off once on my scrap paper and then re-ink with Prussian Blue. I really like the cool feel of the colors, patterns, and the images in this card.
Ingredients: Papers: Navy Card base and various blue DP’S (Basic Grey and others); Ink: ColorBox Chalk Blue Iris and Prussian Blue; Stamps: Stampendous Snow Flurry, Verve Visual Winter Wonder, Savvy Sledding Polar Bear.
Thanks for the visit! You are a card making fool! Sounds like you have the perfect weather for it.
Blinkie is on it’s way. Thanks
Oh, I like this. Love those shades of blue!!
Stef!!!! This is great. Love that you made it 5×7 and that you used a monochromatic design.
ooh ooh OOH!!! i adore this…i was thinking to myself, what BG papers are those that have the *EXTRA* snowflakes on them?! but of course you stamped them, clever clever girl! (with a custom mix of TWO inks no less…the words “hardcore” and “stamper” are leaping to mind here…hehehe…) 🙂
ps:
snow on cards=GORGEOUS! more, please!
snow on grass, trees, fields & rooftops=lovely & picturesque
snow on roads=WAAAAAAAAH stop that!!!!!!
Simply gorgeous! I must try this one 🙂
