When I first stumbled upon SplitCoast Stampers (SCS), I knew I had found something amazing. It led me to more discoveries uncovering a vast on-line stamping community. Now, I no longer stamp alone on Saturdays … I stamp with thousands of individuals across the globe who share my passion.
Sharon Johnson (notimetostamp) was the first stamper I communicated with on SCS. She helped me fine tune my photography skills, so I could upload better pictures of my creations. She has always been so gracious and inspiring. Every time I see one of her new creations, I have to stop and stare in awe.
This card was created for Sharon’s new Stamp Simply challenge to use a single stamp and as few pieces of paper as possible. I knew this Berry Print stamp by Stampington & Company would be perfect.
I stamped it in ColorBox Charcoal on Ivory cardstock. Then I highlighted the berries with a dark red Sakura sparkle pen for a little berry bling. I ran a piece of Basic Grey Scarlet’s Letter DP through the cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, and then sanded the paper with a foam sanding block to bring out the dimension and attached it to a black card base.
I wanted a little red in the stamp mat, but the piece of DP didn’t quite fit, so I trimmed the corners … one of those happy accidents that produced a cool frame effect. I positioned the image slightly to the left so that more of the embossed snowflakes would be visible.
I hope you enjoy a weekend filled with creativity and inspiration.
Oh my goodness!!! You are too kind!!! I had no idea I was the 1st person you ever talked to at SCS — how well I remember those emails. And you know what I remember best — after I told you how I was taking pictures, then all of a sudden you had these fabulous pictures that made mine look so sad — LOL!! Truly!!! Well, back to the card — it is FABULOUS!!! This does NOT look like a simple, one stamp card!!! You pulled this off fabulously!!! I love all your detail with the matting, the embossed layer — just gorgeous!!! So glad you played!!! Is it OK if I link your Blog — I’m slowly but surely getting links added.
This is fabulous, maybe simple but it’s so full of lovely details!
What a gorgeous card for Sharon’s challenge! I love this!!
