The Ways to Use It challenge on SCS today was to find a way to use a pocket in your design. I’ve had a window pocket card sketch in my idea binder for a while, so I thought I would give it a try.
I cut a sheet of paisley DP by Wild Asparagus into a 12 x 5 1/2 inch strip. I scored the paper at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2" and folded along the scores. Then I unfolded it and punched an opening in the center panel with my Giga scalloped rectangle punch. I refolded the card and secured it with tape along the bottom and seam to form a side opening pocket.
I cut a tag from lime green DP and inserted it in the pocket to determine where to place my image. Friends by Penny Black fit perfectly into the opening. After marking my tag for image placement, I took it back out and adhered the matted image and added a sentiment by Hero Arts – "You are a great friend" – on the inside. I colored the skirt and purse with a coral Sakura glaze marker. I used my 1 3/8" circle punch on the open end of the pocket. Two smaller circle punches were used on coral cardstock for the end of my tag. I tied a bow with coral ribbon, added some primas attached with brads and a double-matted Studio G sentiment to finish the design.
Happy Happy Friday to everyone.
