I’m assuming since the Stampers’ Sampler Autumn Take Ten issue goes on sale today, and I have not received an "artist copy" in my mailbox, that they didn’t choose to publish any of the cards I submitted. Oh well, try and try again. Here are a few of the cards I submitted for the issue’s template challenge:
For this one I covered a white side-folded card with light blue background paper by Memory Box. Then I inked the medium snowflake (Stampin’ Up Snowflakes) with Blue Iris ink & stamped it once on scrap paper and then a second time on light blue background paper without re-inking; repeat to cover card front.
Then cut a circle from dark blue background paper and attach to card and trim to fit. Stamp Ritzy Ribbon (Close to My Heart) in Blue Iris on white cardstock. Trim around ribbon and attach to card. Punch a scalloped square from white cardstock and sponge lightly with French Blue ink. Cut squares from dark blue background paper and white cardstock. Ink medium snowflake with Versamark ink and then with Blue Iris ink and stamp on white cardstock square. Emboss with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Sponge stamped square with French Blue ink. Layer squares and attach to card with dimensional adhesive.
Ink small snowflake with Versamark and Blue Iris ink and stamp on white cardstock. Emboss with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Punch out snowflake with circle punch and sponge with French Blue ink. Punch slightly larger circle from light blue background paper and layer circles. Attach on top of stamped ribbon. I love winter cards that aren’t for specific holidays.
For this one, stamp Bead Curtain Background (Judikins) in Yellow Citrus ink on side-folded yellow card. Stamp dots (Stampin’ Up Delight in Life) in Lipstick Red Ink on Turqoise cardstock. Cut out stamped turquoise cardstock circle and slightly larger red cardstock circle; layer and attach to card. For this one, Stamp Chinese Newspaper Wordprint (Hero Arts) multiple times with Chestnut Roan ink on ivory background paper. Adhere paper to front of top-folded card base. Cut circle from Chinese floral background paper and sponge with Chestnut Roan ink to distress; attach to card and trim to fit.
Stamp Large Flower (Stampin’ Up Delight in Life) in Lipstick Red ink on yellow cardstock. Stamp small flower (Stampin’ Up Delight in Life) in Turquoise on top of red flower. Cut out square around flower and sponge edges with Yellow Citrus and Lipstick Red ink. Mat on red cardstock square and attach to card. Accent the center of the flowers with clear glitter glue.
Attach turquoise ribbon to the card front. Attach red plastic flower and yellow prima flower with turquoise flower brad. Attach on top of ribbon.
For this one, Stamp Chinese Newspaper Wordprint (Hero Arts) multiple times with Chestnut Roan ink on ivory background paper. Adhere paper to front of top-folded card base. Cut circle from Chinese floral background paper, sponge with Chestnut Roan ink to distress, attach to card and trim to fit. Stamp Kanji Joy (Stampin’ Up Symbols of Solicitude) in Chestnut Roan ink on ivory cardstock; punch out square. Cut larger brown cardstock square and punch corners with slotted punch. Layer squares and attach to card front. Tie brown fiber around the bottom of the card and adhere with a glue dot behind the knot.

Your cards are lovely, Stephanie! Did you happen to let Stampington keep these? If so, they’ll likely show up in a future magazine like a Catch Up issue or future Take Ten. I’ve submitted cards for numerous Stampington challenges and they’ve NEVER gotten picked up with the challenge — always later on.
The funny thing with submissions is how random the selections seem. My two favorite cards that I ever made didn’t get published at all… but several others that I just put in the envelope because there was room did. It’s very subjective AND due a lot to what color scheme they need for a particular page.
